Great British Pub Food Awards

Testimonials

Winning a Great British Pub Food Award is an amazing achievement and can not only bring you and your pub PR and recognition. It is a fantastic way of showcasing your talents and improving your business. However don't just take our word for it, just see what some of our previous winners have to say!

It was great to have the opportunity to take part in the competition & I was really pleased to have won the Pub Classics category. The event itself was fantastic, and I am grateful to have been part of it. Our customers continue to provide support to our restaurant and the event has generated interest from our regular customers &  has also brought in lots of new ones.

The winning dish is on our menu as a Signature Dish, and is one of our biggest sellers. I have entered for the 2010 Awards, so hopefully I can grab another one!

Philip Milner, The Orange Tree- Winner: Pub Classics 2009

It's been nearly a year now since i won the PubChef of the year award. The award has put the Highwayman on the map and pushed it up to another level. People know that when they come to dine with us they will get good food value for money.

Since winning the award I've been in all the local papers, magazines and radio. Word gets around and chefs want to join my team and grow with us as a company..

The award has given me more confidence in my self and my cooking, it lets you know in the back of your mind that your doing ok.

I have done two cooking shows this year, one at the West Morland show and the other at the Settle Food Festival. Its been good fun meeting new people and spreading the reputation of the Highwayman. This year I have entered both myself and most of my boys into the awards so we will wait and see what happens this year????

Michael Ward, The Highwayman- Winner: PubChef of the year Award 2009

I would recommend any chef to enter. From a personal point of view it is a great sense of achievement to stand of stage in front of 300 people in the industry and collect your award. From a business point of view the publicity is great. The MA advertise the awards, the winners and the event across the UK in the magazine and website which helps boost the profile of you as a chef and the business.
"I have my award winning dishes on my menu and customers recognise the dishes and it helps boost our profile. We get lots of attention from the local press about entering and winning the awards. I would recommend all pub chefs to enter these awards because your business can really benefit.
